Bisontennial I - he sired Bisontennial II that was the bull of the week a few months back. I’m betting this guy might have a little Horned Hereford in his breeding!

Historical Beefalo Bull Of The Week!!!

Since this week we had Columbus Day than we will use non other than the original COLUMBUS as our bull of the week! He is one of the foundation herd sires for the Beefalo breed.

Columbus was a bull of the week earlier this year but this picture that we posted today is one of him a few years later when he was in his PRIME!!!

Historical Beefalo Bull of the Week!!!

In the spirit of the upcoming Columbus Day holiday this month we will feature a bull that has Columbus in his name!

This guy wasn’t one of the Foundation Herd Sires but his Sire was! COLUMBUS’ COPY was the son to the legendary COLUMBUS! He was a 3/4 Beefalo bull and won the 1982 National Beefalo Bull Title! This guy screams Excellence! I don’t know if very many people that would cull this guy out of their breeding program!

Warrior 07K- this guy is what it was all about! Check out his EPD’s! Almost 1,200 pounds at ONE YEAR OLD!!! Yes the Charolais in his breeding had a lot to do with his weight gain but that is the beauty of BEEFALO, you can use whatever beef breed you want!

HISTORICAL BEEFALO BULL OF THE WEEK!!!

LARAMIE- this fullblood Beefalo Bull was really popular in the western states in the mid and late 1980’s. There were university test done on his offspring to see how they grew in comparison to other breeds and other beefalo. He had highly sought after results which help to increase his popularity! There are many Beefalo out there today that can trace their roots back to this guy!

HISTORICAL BEEFALO BULL of The Week comes from us during our Nations 200th BIRTHDAY year! This guy simply went by “184”! 184 has some impressive EPD’s! For those who aren’t aware of what EPD’s are that would be Expected Progeny Differences. Note under his picture his weights... those are all related to a form of EPD’s.

Historical Beefalo Bull of the week is Bob’s Pride 11- he is a Foundation Herd Sire! This guy was out of a 3/4 Bison bull and a bovine cow. I bet there are a lot of Beefalo out there today that could trace their lineage back to this guy!

This week we are featuring TOM TOM! TOM TOM was a bull that was developed in south and he was the 100th Foundation Herd Sire in the registry! What an impressive bull to be out of a 3/4 bison bull!

RED RIVER CHIEF is your HISTORICAL BEEFALO BULL of the week! This guy was a son to PAWNEE CHIEF who was your bull of the week a few weeks ago! I wish I could find a picture of this guy at maturity. He is impressive enough in this picture but he is still a youngster here!

BCB JOHNNY RED- full of color and a fullblood Beefalo Bull! He was Foundation Herd Sire number 086. He sired a lot of Champions in the early 80’s! You can definitely see the bison influence in this guy!

This guy known as SILVER STREAK is what we consider an ancestry bull! He is over the percentage for a fullblood BEEFALO! This guy was 43.75% Bison.

I’d love to have this guy roaming through my herd!!

DAKOTA CHIEF is the ABA Historical Beefalo Bull of the week this week! He was a first generation fullblood BEEFALO. Sired by a 75% bison bull and out of a CharolaisXAngus cow!

GOLDENROD- would be 43 if he was still with us! Fortunately he still has offspring hitting the ground thanks to A.I.! Many of the Beefalo out there today can be traced back to this big guy!

PAWNEE CHIEF had a tremendous build that would be welcomed in any breed of cattle! His descendent’s are still winning in the show ring! The bull that won Grand Champion at the March National Show this year goes back to this guy here!

Bisontinnial No. 2 is this weeks historic featured Beefalo bull of the week! This guy was the product of a 3/4 Bison bull and a bovine cow. He is a perfect example of what the hybrid vigor of Beefalo is all about!

THE BEAR- is this weeks featured bull from the BEEFALO highlight reel. Although I don’t know a lot about this bull I sure wouldn’t mind having him on a few of my cows! I do know that he was enough bull that he needed 2 owners back in the day!

Happy Monday from 1983 this morning! Here is a bull that was widely popular and widely used in the mid 80’s by Beefalo breeders all over. I know there was a lot of semen out there from this bull. He had great milking traits and his offspring was really docile.

Here we have a poplar bull from the early and mid 1980’s that went by FREIGHTRAIN!!!

I never got the full story on this guy but I have suspicions that his name was earned and not just given. I have seen many of his descendants and they seem to have characteristics that set them apart from other Beefalo! Here’s to the Classic FREIGHTRAIN!!!
